With sustained effort would have been 388 - not dedicated enough.

9 Pete Davis Essex 308 (BOU) Arctic Redpoll Titchwell 28/12. Objective of 300+ BOU in a year achieved. Great fun but back to the local patch for 2005. Excellent year for lifers with Brown & Masked Shrike, CCC, Western Sand & Ovenbird although would have swapped them all for the Fair Isle Robin! Good luck to all year listing in 2005.

46 D Ogbins Chinese 247 My plastic eyes have finally got me onto the top page. Latest 27th Dec - Killdeer & Twite. 18th Dec - Sora, Ring-necked Duck, Black-winged Stilt, Mealy Redpoll, Lesser Redpoll, Common Scoter, Purple Sand. Still more common winter birds to come - I only saw my first bird in April. Those eyes let me down on King Eider though, and Black Duck. GRRRRRRR.

Selecta English (Back in Cornwall) 225 BOU Some great birding experiences this year, where the early mornings on the June Norfolk holiday really paid off (cheers CJ, JC, Iain and Dan), having unbelievable luck in locating birds (cheers Bravo and of course Donna!) in Cornwall (except the Blyth's!!), also picking up the summer stuff on its arrival with the many walks to Clarach with my Donna. Highlights including American Robin on Jan 1st, spotted crake and so many others. Hoping for just as good an '05!

Too many highlights to mention here but main ones were excellent views of 2 male Black Grouse, Golden Orioles displaying in June during a top trip to E Anglia with the likely lads, Storm Petrels at sea off Aberystwyth and finding 2 Snow Buntings and a Lapland Bunting close to home.

81 Jonathan Clarke British (At Aber Uni) 204 A great year despite being out of the British Birding scene for more than three months including both spring & autumn migration but enough excuses Highlights A Fandabidosy week in East Anglia with the guys, included 3 Golden Orioles at once, The Icy, & a surprise stone curlew at Holkham to name but a few. But the spotted sand on en route was one of my favourite birding moments of my life-an adventure in itself! Almost everything else has been in central or North Wales. Local patch turned up some goodies inc Osprey, Gargeney, Dippers, Temminck's stint, crossbill, Lesser peckers, Goshawk, Green Winged Teal, LT Duck & Snow bunting! Other Welsh Sundries inc Little Bunting, 10 Hawfinches & Little Stint on the same day & finally a very sociable pelagic from Aberystwyth!
