World Birding Videos by Paul Hopkins
Paul's video postings are currently from Thailand, Ecuador and Peru, with a scattering of UK and European rarities. Keep watching the Video homepage, as Paul has promised more from Peru, Brazilian Amazonia, The Pantanal and Goa to wet everyone's appetites for these amazing birding destinations. Paul is also off to peninsular Malaysia and Christmas Island in September which promises to serve up some exciting video opportunities. Based in Cornwall, UK, many readers may know Paul from his twitching forays, especially in the early 1990's when he was a keen photographer, with many of his photographs gracing the pages of the UK Birding mags (remember the Chingford Naumann's Thrush). In recent times Paul has switched his focus to video and whilst an occasional sighting at UK twitches and around his local patch, his main focus now is his world birding trips. Paul also building up an impressive collection of UK Dragonfly and Butterfly video footage. For those of you who have enjoyed Paul's videos on Surfbirds and would like to see them in top quality resolution on their 50 inch plasma screens, Paul's DVDs can be purchased directly from him, by contacting Paul in the forum via private message. These DVDs are presented as travelogue of his birding trips and offer a representation of the birds seen at various sites throughout the trip. Paul has decided to leave audio commentary alone and let the images do the talking, with the exception of his Goa video which has a brief introduction. Feedback has been that "unless you are David Attenborough, leave the commentary out!"
Single DVD titles are £15 and Double DVD titles are £20. UK postage and packing £1.50 and for the rest of the world contact Paul for a quote. So if you are planning a trip to any of these destinations or are looking for a memory of the great birds from one of your own trips, you would be well advised to take a look at Paul's DVD's.
