Caribbean/Dominica

The Commonwealth of Dominica (different from the Dominican Republic) is the largest of the Windward Islands and the most mountainous. Of all the Caribbean Islands, Dominica, draped in spectacular rain forest from end to end, is the place for the adventurous nature-lover. For birders there are two species of ultra-rare endemic parrots, the Imperial Parrot and the slightly commoner Red-necked Parrot. Both are restricted to the huge Northern Reserve dominated by Morne Diablotin, the islands highest peak.
