Europe/Switzerland

Switzerland, sitting at the heart of Europe, has evolved around the Alps, a natural barrier between the northern and southern climates of Europe. Three-fifths of the country is mountainous with typical alpine species nummerous throughout. Inevitably, most birders visit Switzerland for the subalpine zone (Black Woodpecker, Three-toed Woodpecker, Nutcracker and the magical Wallcreeper) and the alpine zone (Rock Thrush, Alpine Accentor and Snow Finch).
