Birding Mail - Alaska Birding - [AK Birding] Clitheroe Directions

Here are some basic directions to the Clitheroe Center in Anchorage, where people have been spotting the Great Gray Owls. We went out Saturday and saw 5 separate owls.

Take Northern Lights as far west as you can go. It will turn south around Point Woronzof and turn into Point Woronzof Rd. Keep going south through the gate and you will eventually have to turn west (right) on West End Rd. It is not marked, but is your is your only choice. Park right before the Clitheroe Center and walk south through some large equipment. You will see a trail where people have been walking west(right)along the fence that parallels the runway. You can follow this all the way to the coastal trail and the Great Gray Owls have been concentrated around this area. I made a quick map:
