Continuing from December 27th, the SNOWY OWL at the Nubble Lighthouse was reported again on January 30th.
The north shore of Biddeford Pool held a lone BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER on the 31st.
A TURKEY VULTURE was seen flying over the turnpike in Biddeford on the 4th.
Greater Portland
An ‘OREGON’ DARK-EYED JUNCO was reported visiting feeders in Portland on the 3rd.
A GREATER WHITE-FONTED GOOSE continues to be seen along the Fore River.
The LARK SPARROW, that has been seen along Fessenden Road in Cape Elizabeth since December 17th, was seen again on the 2nd and 5th of this period.
A late GREEN-WINGED TEAL was seen near the soccer fields at Back Cove in Portland on the 30th.
Lewiston-Auburn
A group of 12 BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS were reported in Turner Center on the 1st.
Kennebec River Valley (Augusta-Waterville)
On the 2nd a drake WOOD DUCK was found in the Kennebec River from the Gardiner Town Landing.
Midcoast
An immature RED-HEADED WOODPECKER has been seen in Cushing Cemetery on the west side of N Pond Road in Warren since early December.
Another immature RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was confirmed at a feeder on Bailey Island in Harpswell on the 30th. This bird has reportedly been present since August or September of 2011.
On the 5th a TURKEY VULTURE was seen over Bath.
A BELTED KINGFISHER was seen at the Dresden Town Landing on the 4th.
Penobscot Bay
The adult BLACK-HEADED GULL being seen around the MV Monhegan dock in Rockland was last reported on the 31st.
Two FISH CROWS continue to be reported in downtown Rockland behind the Lincoln Street School.
Central Maine
A VARIED THRUSH has been visiting private feeders in Turner for several weeks.
A small flock of BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS was seen from Fountain Street in Bangor on the 1st.
Downeast
A dozen BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were reported from Cooper Street in Machias on the 1st.
A large flock of around 200 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were noted near the Washington County Community College on the 4th.
A DOVEKIE was found in Manset, near the Hinckley Boat Yard, on January 23rd and continued until the 31st.
A deceased BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER was found in a yard in Northeast Harbor on January 29th.
Western Mountains
Eight BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen on the 5th at the intersection of Old River Road and Harbor Road in Fryeburg.
PINE GROSBEAKS have begun to show up around Rangeley.
