FRONT RANGE NORTHERN COLORADO
Jefferson County
Yesterday, Terry Michaels reported from Red Rocks Park: the
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW (Henwood, 11/3) and ROSY FINCHES (Henwood,
1/17). On 2/4, Henwood relocated the adult and 1st winter HARRIS'S
SPARROWS (Henwood, 1/5) at the Bear Creek Lake Park boat ramp area.
On 2/2, Gail Abbott relocated a GREATER ROADRUNNER on Dinosaur Ridge
since August (see CoBus website for directions). On 1/30, Merlynn
Brown found an adult male AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER at Pine
Valley Ranch Park (Buck Gulch Tr/60 yards south of Pine Lake Loop, 20
yards west of trail).

Arapahoe County
Yesterday, Glenn Walbek reported from Cherry Creek State Park:
GLAUCOUS GULL (Walbek, 1/27), adult THAYER'S GULL (Petrosky, 1/25),
2nd cycle LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL. Stevens added a 1st cycle
THAYER'S GULL. Yesterday, Stevens relocated the LESSER BLACK-BACKED
GULL (Stevens, 1/16) at Aurora Reservoir. Art Hudak relocated the
LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL (Niyo, 12/14) at Centennial Park.

Broomfield County
Yesterday, Walbek reported from Parkside Center Pond: adult MEW GULL,
2 adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, 1st cycle THAYER'S GULL (Plage,
12/27) & 2 adult THAYER'S GULL. Walbek reported from Siena Pond:
adult MEW GULL, adult and 1st cycle THAYER'S GULL.

Boulder County
Yesterday, Loch Kilpatrick reported from Valmont Reservoir: a TUNDRA
SWAN (Kaempfer, 1/7) and RED-NECKED GREBE (Spencer, 1/2). On 2/8,
Christian Nunes reported: adult & 1st cycle GLAUCOUS GULLS, two 1st
cycle) THAYER'S GULLS, adult, 3rd cycle, two 1st/2nd cycle LESSER
BLACK-BACKED GULLS. On 2/1, Eric Zorawowicz relocated the
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW (Severs, 12/18) at Teller Lakes North
Trailhead.

Larimer County
Yesterday, Nick Komar reported from Carter Lake: 3 imm, adult GLAUCOUS
GULL, 1st cycle THAYER'S GULL, LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, possible
GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL. On 2/6, Joe Mammoser found a SWAMP SPARROW at
Running Deer Natural Area (see CoBus website for details). On 2/4,
Leatherman relocated the EASTERN SCREECH-OWL (Leatherman, 1/8) at
Grandview Cemetery. On 2/3, Skyler Bol relocated the TRUMPETER SWAN
(Lane, 1/1) at Cattail Pond. On 1/30, Ehlmann relocated a NORTHERN
PYGMY-OWL (Stevens, 12/28) downhill from Whale Rock in Rist Canyon.

Adams County
On 2/8, Jerry Petrosky relocated a HARRIS'S SPARROW (Stevens, 1/18) at
the Star K Ranch Open Space feeders. On 2/6, Bob Canter relocated 2
AMERICAN DIPPER (Canter, 11/12) under the I76 Bridges east of Lowell
Ponds Wildlife Area.

On 2/4, Ehlmann saw a SHORT-EARED OWL flying across Queensburg Street,
south of 114th avenue. On 2/1, Petrosky relocated the darkish (young)
SNOWY OWL southwest of Harvest Road & 136th avenue. On 1/30, a SNOWY
OWL was seen east of 14141 Harvest Road (also try west of the house).
On 1/29, many birders relocated the "darker/young" SNOWY OWL (Rashid,
1/3) across from the Barr Lake State Park entrance (look in grasses
around gas riser, south of circle irrigation system). . On 1/28,
Kosten relocated a male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE (Stevens, 11/2) along the
Platte River, south of 88th & Colorado Blvd (near green/white tower).

Douglas County
On 2/8, Stevens relocated an AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER 10 feet
north and 25 yards east of Highway 67 and Rampart Range Road.

Weld County
On 2/5, Martin Vandegehuchte relocated a female RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER
(Wilberding, 10/21) at Crow Valley Campground. On 2/2, Ehlmann
relocated SHORT-EARED OWLS (Stevens, 11/5) at Lower Latham Reservoir
(marsh off CR 48).

Denver County
On 2/3, Weston relocated the LONG-TAILED DUCK (Wuerthele, 11/22) on
Duck Lake, Denver City Park. It was not relocated 2/4 and 2/8.

Huerfano County
On 2/3, Beverly Jensen relocated ROSY FINCHES at her La Veta home

719-742-3195). Paul & Polly Neldner reported 35-40 PINYON JAYS at
their La Veta home (Email for additional information:
pollywren(at)gmail.com).

Pueblo County
On 1/30, Bill Evans relocated west of the Pueblo Nature Center:
NORTHERN CARDINAL (Percival, 1/19), 2 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS. On
1/28, David Chartier relocated 2 BLACK PHOEBES. On 1/29, Christian
Nunes relocated the GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL at Pueblo Reservoir.

NORTHEASTERN COLORADO
Logan County
On 2/5, Joey Kellner reported 2 TUNDRA SWAN at Red Lions Wildlife Area.

Logan/Sedgwick Counties
On 2/5, Kellner reported from Jumbo Reservoir: 3 GLAUCOUS GULLS, 3
LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS, a THAYER'S GULL, GREATER WHITE-FRONTED
GEESE, ROSS'S GEESE.

SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO
Otero County
On 2/1, David Leatherman found a female NORTHERN CARDINAL at Timpas
Wildlife Area. Earlier in the week, Stan Oswald found a COMMON
REDPOLL.

Prowers County
On 1/31, Leatherman reported from Lamar Community College: NORTHERN
CARDINAL, RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER & 2 HARRIS'S SPARROWS.

Bent County
On 1/31, Duane Nelson reported from John Martin Reservoir: GREAT
BLACK-BACKED GULL.

MOUNTAINS AND WESTERN COLORADO
Jackson County & Larimer County
On 2/8, Dixie Smith reported from the Colorado State Forest Visitor's
Center feeders: ROSY FINCHES (Ehlmann, 12/6) and WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW (Dodson, 2/1). On 1/31, Ehlmann and all relocated a BOREAL
OWL just east of Cameron Pass.

Summit County
On 2/7, Stevens relocated BARROW'S GOLDENEYES (Zeeto, 10/26) at the
Blue River Water Treatment Plant.

Chaffee County
On 2/6, Setta Moss relocated BARROW'S GOLDENEYES (Mackie, 1/8) at
Sands Lake Wildlife Area.

Garfield County
On 2/6, Tom McConnell relocated 55 BARROW'S GOLDENEYE (Filby, 1/8) at
Coryell Ranch Ponds. On 2/4, Mary Harris found 12 BARROW'S GOLDENEYES
on the Roaring Fork River (between the Catherine Store Bridge & El
Jebel).

Eagle County
On 2/6, McConnell found 2 BARROW'S GOLDENEYE along Fryingpan River
Road (pond near mile marker 6).

La Plata County
On 2/5, Riley Morris reported a male VARIED THRUSH (Morris, 1/31) at
the Durango Fish Hatchery (see CoBus website for directions).

Mesa County
On 2/5, Larry Arnold found a LONG-TAILED DUCK on the Colorado River at
the Connected Lakes State Park turn around.

Delta County
On 2/5, Leon Thurmon reported from the Gunnison River at Confluence
Park: 10 BARROW'S GOLDENEYE & 12 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE.

Grand County
On 1/30, Ehlmann relocated an AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER (Stevens,
11/26) up the maintenance shed road at Rabbit Ears Pass.

Clear Creek County
On 1/20, Stevens relocated WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN at Loveland Pass
(see CoBus website for details).
