I was able to get out for a couple of hours this morning and stopped at
Richview Road and Park Ave. and at Goose Pond along Potts Road. Both sites
were really birdy, but the best find was one Winter Wren that was seen and
heard at Potts Road along the dike near the wooden footbridge. Here's a
link to map<http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid 2530490930914467339.0004b83b72f5f068ae39d&msa=0&ll0.477002,-84.243617&spn=0.000789,0.001336>with
a place marker at the wren's location. I usually park at the entrance
to the L-shaped dike just north of this location where Potts Road curves
east to connect to Centerville Road.

Please note: this area can have a lot of Cottonmouths in warm weather and
there are House Wrens about that may tempt you to call them Winter Wrens.
Remember that Winter Wrens are round little guys, overall darker, with an
all-dark bill, obvious barring on the flanks, and a noticeable supercilium.
