Hello Texbirders,
Monday afternoon I birded a privately-owned site for 2.5 hours near the Peach
Creek Community in southern Brazos County. I have seen Rusty Blackbirds at this
site in the Navasota Bottoms in the past and found a flock foraging yesterday.
About 20 Rusties were foraging in a wet area with 10+ female Red-winged
Blackbirds. A few of the Rusty Blackbirds were singing their gurgly song. I also
had Winter and Sedge Wrens, White-breasted Nuthatch, Brown Creepers, six
woodpecker species(Red-headed, Red-bellied, Downy, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, N.
Flicker, and Pileated), and a couple Common Yellowthroats. Missed Hairy
