The Sabine's Gull was still present to at the Dupont Nature Center in Slaughter Beach at 12:45PM. It was observed sitting on the distant pilings in the channel.

There were thousands of shorebirds yesterday at Slaughter Beach, mostly
Semipalmated Sandpipers and Ruddy Turnstones.
Also, I was actually able to see the reported Sabine's Gull at a great
distance through a friend's scope from the deck of the
Mispillion Dupont Nature Center but alas I was unable to photograph it.

At 7:50 following a long siesta on Point Bleached the gull flew across to
Osprey Beach where it was busily scarfing down hsc eggs when I left the deck

I was at the Dupont Center this morning but the fog was just thick enough that just vague bird-shaped objects could be seen on the beaches inside the harbor - but identification was pretty much impossible. I will be leading a Sussex Bird Club fieldtrip there this evening and

I spotted 5 white pelicans in the Bear Swamp Pool about 2pm today. On my way out at 4:30pm, all 5 were in the Shearness Pool. I assume that these are the same 5 pelicans that were in the Thousand Acre Marsh earlier in the week.

The Iceland Gull was being seen at least until about 2:30 pm today
(Tuesday), when I left. It was with Herring Gulls on the sand/gravel point looking
NNE from the back of the deck at the nature center.

On 5/6 I observed 4 people using a metal detector, shovel and screen at Fowlers Beach in the breeding bird area. Here I sit and the same couple with only one kid are digging again. This is sinful.

Went to Tweed's Park yesterday about 6 p.m. - two beautiful orchard orioles
- one 1st summer male (yellow with black throat) singing a bit - with a
cigarette and a caterpillar in mouth. Other was adult male. Also saw,

I just received word via Anthony Gonzon that Kevin Kalasz from the Delaware
Shorebird Project has a breeding plumage Sabine's Gull at Mispillion Inlet.
The bird has been at the inlet about a half hour.
