In regards to the Cass Co Blue Grosbeak, I forgot to remind birders to stay off of the railroad tracks and right-of-way, posted "No Trespassing" Amtrak is very picky about trespassers. I know its very tempting to walk down the tracks, but please remember you are representing the birding community.

Appr. 7:00 a.m. this morning (24 May 2012) I stopped along Wells Street, 1/4 mile east of M-51 where the Amtrak Railroad crosses the road in Pokagon Township, Cass County. A male BLUE GROSBEAK was singing frequently and flew across the tracks, quite visible.

Had a young Little Gull with 200+ Bonaparte's Gulls this evening in Cell 3 of the Banana at Pointe Mouillee SGA in northeast Monroe County. Also present was a/the Marbled Godwit, Red-necked Phalarope, piles of other shorebirds and 70+ Whimbrels in flight over Cell 4.

One WHITE-FACED IBIS was located at Fish Point, Tuscola County this afternoon, May 14, where three ibises were found last week. I received several ebird alerts today saying there is a Yellow-crowned Night-heron nesting in the Black-crowned Night-heron rookery at the Detroit Zoo. It was observed building a nest so it should stick around.

Sean Fitzgerald found 3 *Plegadis *sp. at Fish Point in Tuscola Co. last
evening (May 9) just before dusk. He was unable to work out ID at the
distances involved and could only say that he *thought* he was seeing
red/pink in the facial skin area, which would suggest White-faced or

We refound the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher in the Tulip Tree Picnic Area at
about 10:15 am. It then flew south toward the Woodside Creek picnic area
and entertained dozens by flycatching next to the main road.
A beautiful bird! I'll post digiscoped images this evening.

The Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was still being seen by many at 5pm at Lower Huron Metropark in Wayne County today. The bird was seen repeatedly snatching butterflies and returning to pretty much the same spot. Joggers and walkers did not seem to perturb the bird, allowing close approaches.

I am currently viewing a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher at Lower Huron Metropark. It is working Woods Creek Picnic Area. This is accessed from the main parkway just south of the Par 3 course and north of Turtle Cove.
