I found this large group of identically marked Mallard offspring at the
Kennecott Nature Center pond. (see attached).

They caught my attention since 10 of the 11 youngsters are identical, with
very noticeable white breast plumage.

Curious sight.

I was visiting friends in Temecula, CA this weekend and saw a life
bird...the White Tailed Kite. It's completely unmistakable...and incredibly
gorgeous. It was in a row with a Coopers and was chased off but I got a solid 30

of an Eagle Owl in flight. The link is safe.

I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph this species in Botswana last
year - but nothing like this!

Today along the Jordan River Parkway in Murray I observed a female mallard with 11 ducklings of which only one of was hers. The others ducklings?10 Northern Pintails! haha.

I was with the group this morning and heard nothing about an Upland Sandpiper. We also reviewed the birds we saw when we got back and nothing was said of an Upland Sandpiper. Perhaps he came by later, or I somehow missed it.

I thought about mentioning this before and forgot. I apologize if this is

I've uploaded a video of the Great Horned Owl chicks from this morning. You will notice one of the chicks is gone.

On Wednesday night (Thursday morning) the largest chick left the nest. I was able to locate the fledgling Thursday morning not far from the nest,

I saw this bird with the group of Red-necked Phalaropes I saw. I take it for a juvenille Phalarope, but Red-necked or Red. The bill is the reason I ask it seems anything but the needle like bill of the Red-necked.

I may have done something counterproductive last night. I hung a
hummingbird feeder outside my home office window. Today it's very popular
with *BLACK-CHINNED *and *BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRDS*. It hangs right above
a dwarf ornamental peach tree. A courting pair of Black-chinned
Hummingbirds have been doing their thing around the little peach tree.
