BELVIDE BIRDING

• Saturday, June 6, 2009 - Belvide Heavy Rain ENE 3-5

Belvide does the business again today with our 3rd RED NECKED PHALAROPE in the last 10 days. The bird was probably a male and showed on the north shore till 1.50pm when it flew off. 2 Avocet was an excellent supporting cast. They graced the north shore till 10.55am when they flew off despite it still raining heavily. 3 Turnstone flew thru at 3.40pm also single Ringed Plover and Redshank were present. A Black Tern was another new arrival. A Hobby was seen this afternoon. Teal have increased to 6.

With a similar forecast for tomorrow of persistent rain and Easterly winds another eagerly anticipated day awaits.
