BELVIDE BIRDING

• Monday, June 22, 2009 - Belvide Overcast NW 2

The main highlight today were 2 Common Cranes that flew over high to the west at 2.05pm. These were almost certainly the same birds that started the day at Rutland Water. Yours truely missed them by 5 minutes. because I stayed at home watching tennis!! This is the 5th record for Belvide.

3 LRP were on the north shore and a single Curlew flew thru also a Common Sandpiper was on the dam wall. 2 Little Grebe were new arrivals and an adult Common Gull dropped in briefly this afternoon. A Little Owl was showing well again along Shutt Green Lane.
