BELVIDE BIRDING

A Spotted Flycatcher was below the dam this morning other migrants included 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Whitethroat, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Common Tern and 4 Swift. 3 Dunlin, 1 Green Sandpiper and 2 Ringed Plover were the only waders noted. Wigeon have increased to 3 also 105 Teal, 21 Shoveler, 1 Shelduck, 1 Goldeneye and 332 Greylag Geese which is a new Belvide record. An immature Peregrine was seen to kill a Coot this afternoon. At least 30 Tree Sparrow were at the west end, also the first notable movement of Meadow Pipit this morning with 25+ heading west/south west.
