BELVIDE BIRDING

• Wednesday, May 17, 2006 - Belvide Reservoir 3rd May 06-8th May06

1 Whimbrel fed on the north shore + a Dunlin, 4 Common Sand 1 Hobby, 6 Shelduck and the 1st sum male Goldeneye.

 

4th May 06

With winds in the south east it was only a matter of time before our first Black Tern arrived. A second bird joining it in the evening.

 

5th May 06

2 fine drake Garganey arrived today with also 2 Spotted Flycatcher in the reservoir plantation being new for the year.

 

6th May

Our breeding pair of Oystercatchers have hatched 2 chicks out today. 1 Goldeneye, 1 LRP, and a Common Sand also present.

 

7th May

A pair of Common Scoter have dropped in today also 2 Sanderling and 12 Dunlin thru today.

8th May

The pair of Common Scoter are still present also a Hobby, 2 Dunlin, 2 Common Sand and 2 LRP noted.
