BELVIDE BIRDING

• Monday, June 12, 2006 - Belvide 12th June 2006 Overcast W 2

3 Sanderling flew thru to the west at 4.55pm pity they did'nt fancy the new muddy shoreline. Pochards have risen to 9 but there was no sign of the Garganey today. 2 Common Tern were also present. A single Hobby was hawking insects in the evening and the young Tawny Owl was seen again in the reservoir plantation.

11th June

The drake Garganey and a fly over Curlew were the only birds of note today. The pair of Mute Swans have lost one of their cygnets but on the bright side a pair of Little Grebes were seen with at least one chick.
