BELVIDE BIRDING

• Tuesday, August 1, 2006 - Belvide 1st August 2006 Showery W 3-4

Bird of the day was a Bar-tailed Godwit (photo) that flew in from the east at 3.40pm. It fed at the west end for an hour before flying off to the west.Other waders present were 1 Ringed Plover, 5 LRP, 2 Dunlin, 4 Common Sand, 1 Green Sand and 7 Snipe. A Hobby was chasing hirrundines in the afternoon, a juvenile Cuckoo was a welcome sight by the Scott hide and the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker again from the woodland feeding station. 143 Greylag Geese and 354 Mallard were counted.
