BELVIDE BIRDING

• Wednesday, August 16, 2006 - Belvide Cloudy Variable 1

The 2nd Wood Sandpiper of the autumn dropped in also 6 Greenshank, 1 Green Sand, 4 Common Sand, 2 Dunlin, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 LRP and 1 Curlew. The 3 Garganey were still present also the drake Scaup and a juv Shelduck.A Water Rail was showing well in the Gazebo bay and 5 Spotted Flycatcher and a Hobby were seen. One of the Common Tern chicks has jumped off the raft and is being fed on the shorline. On a personel note today is my 4000th visit to Belvide since the 10th March 1984.

Congrats on your 4000th visit!! Great achievement. I'm currently knocking around the 350 visits mark to my patch (Venus Pool), since Aug 03. Good patch year list too, I'm on 122 at VP (which I believe is a record?), but it's been a poor year, really. I do visit Belvide occaisionally, it's a great patch to have. Cheers and I enjoy reading your blog, Jason.
