BELVIDE BIRDING

• Thursday, August 17, 2006 - Belvide Overcast E 2

The hoped for heavy rain to fetch down all these overflying waders never really happened, apart from a bit of rain around dinner time. The two Common Tern  chicks are now both off the raft and can now fly!! 3 Garganey, drake Scaup and 3 Wigeon were present.8 Greenshank, 1 Green Sand, 5 Common Sand and a single LRP were the only waders noted. The Water Rail continues to show well in the Gazebo Bay. A Lesser Whitethroat was along the hedgerow by the Bryant hide.
