BELVIDE BIRDING

• Monday, August 21, 2006 - Belvide Cloudy NW 3-4

Main item of news today were 4 Little Egret that fed along the western feeder stream this afternoon. It was also the most ever seen at Belvide. Also present was the juvenile Black-necked Grebe, 3 Garganey, drake Scaup, 4 Wigeon and a juv Shelduck. A juvenile Goosander that dropped in mid afternoon was the first of the autumn. Greenshank have increased to 9 also 2 Ringed Plover, 5 Common Sand and 1 Curlew.The Lesser Spotted Woodpecker was again in the reservoir plantation also single Hobby, 7 Common Tern, 3 Spotted Flycatcher and the juvenile Yellow-legged Gull from yesterday still.
