BELVIDE BIRDING

• Wednesday, September 20, 2006 - Belvide Cloudy S 4

The 3 Little Stint were still present along with 4 Dunlin, 1 Ruff, 1 Greenshank and 3 new Common Sand.3 Hobby were whizzing around this afternoon. The Honey Buzzard that was seen Sunday morning was probably a radio tagged bird that was reared near Inverness. It roosted on Cannock Chase on the 15th sept then was over Wolverhampton 0930 on the 16th. It was then tracked over Claverely near Bridgenorth Shropshire at 1230. From its flight pattern it looks like it was just wondering around our area for a couple of days. Although the tracking devise was not switched on at the time of the Belvide sighting, there is a very good chance it was the same bird. You can keep track of this bird at www.roydennis.org/

Coincidence or not, but a Honey Buzzard drifted westwards over my house at 19.45 on 19/09 towards the Bleak House/Cuckoo Bank area.
