BELVIDE BIRDING

• Sunday, September 24, 2006 - Belvide Thunder Storm 0830 Then Fair SE 1

581 Swallow past thru to the south this morning including 369 between 0800-0830. Also 42 Skylark thru.Other migrants over included 24 Meadow Pipit and 12 Chaffinch. Waders present were 1 Greenshank, 1 Ruff, 7 Dunlin and 3 Common Sand.Single Hobby, Reed Warbler and Pintail were also present.

3x Mistle thrush; 3x Grey wagtail; 25x Swallows flew south; coal tit; marsh tit; Common Sand on dam; 40+ Pied Wagtails flew east over the dam presumably to roost elsewhere; and all the Canadas and Greylags flew out at dusk heading north-east so I'd love to know where they went to roost.
