BELVIDE BIRDING

Main item of news was a Water Vole that was feeding along the boundry ditch in the Gazebo bay. This is the first sighting for at least 15 years!! On the bird front a 1st winter Mediterranean Gull roosted, single Ruff and Dunlin still. 1037 Lapwing and 196 Golden Plover were at the west end. Also 66 Cormorant were counted. The Common Teal with a red band on its bill was caught at the jacinto dunes Nature Reserve in Portugal. A distance of 1422km from Belvide. There was no sign of it today.
