BELVIDE BIRDING

• Tuesday, October 24, 2006 - Belvide Sunny WNW 2-3

A good days birding with a European White-fronted Goose being bird of the day. An imm/fem Merlin flew thru to the south at 3.45pm. A Black-tailed Godwit was a new arrival also 1 Ruff, 2 Dunlin, 235 Golden Plover, 1160 Lapwing and 52 Common Snipe. 3 Stonechat were also new arrivals with a male and female at the west end and a male along the south east bay. A Chiffchaff was still in the south east bay scrub. The drake ferruginous/pochard hybrid was amongst 61 Pochard.
