BELVIDE BIRDING

• Monday, December 18, 2006 - Belvide Murky SE 1

The main item of news today were 7 Bewick's Swan that flew in from the north east at 2.40pm, including 6 adults and a juvenile. They were almost certainly the same birds that were at Blithfield earlier in the day and were still present at dusk. Bewick's are much rarer these days and are only just annual. This being a new addition to the Belvide year list. Also present were 3 redhead Goosander, 45 Goldeneye, an adult Yellow-legged Gull roosted and 2 Water Rail were infront of the Scott hide at dusk.
