BELVIDE BIRDING

• Thursday, January 18, 2007 - Belvide Rain then Cloudy W 8-9

A spectacular day but not for the birds. Some of the strongest winds I have witnessed at Belvide in the 23 years I've been going. The sight of wave after wave crashing against the dam was truely amazing.

Despite the gale force winds nothing was blown in. The gull roost was better with 6 Yellow-legged Gulls including 4 adults, 1 3rd winter and 1 1st winter, also 500 LBB Gull. The only other bird of note was an imm female Peregrine and 27 Great Crested Grebe were counted.
