BELVIDE BIRDING

• Tuesday, April 17, 2007 - Belvide Cloudy NW 2-3

A male Channel Wagtail was present on the north shore this afternoon and the first time I have seen this form at Belvide. For those of you that are not familier, it is a hybrid between Blue Headed (flava) wagtail and our british (flavissima) Yellow Wagtail. The bird showing a pale greyish blue head with a white supercilium. Summer migrants are still very slow arriving with still just a single Sedge Warbler, 3 Willow Warbler  4 House Martin and 4 Little Ringed Plover on the north shore. The adult and 2 juvenile Tawny Owls were in the usual trees in the reservoir plantation and 2 Shelduck were new in.
