BELVIDE BIRDING

• Tuesday, April 24, 2007 - Belvide Rain then Overcast S 1-2

2 Whimbrel flew over to the north at 12.10pm was the main highlight. A Common Tern dropped in briefly mid morning. A Hobby flew over to the south. Other migrants noted was a Lesser Whitethroat in the west marsh, 3 Whitethroat, 4 Reed Warbler, a single Yellow Wagtail flew over to the north and 50 Swift were counted. 2 Pink-footed Geese were with 8 Greylag Geese on the north shore. A pair of Yellowhammer were observed nest building at the west end.
