BELVIDE BIRDING

• Wednesday, April 25, 2007 - Belvide Fair SW 3-4

5 more Whimbrel flew thru to the west this morning also a probable Arctic Tern briefly. Other migrants noted included 5 Wheatear in a field beyond the west marsh, single Hobby, Yellow Wagtail, 5 Whitethroat, a Lesser Whitethroat was singing again along the west lane, 2 Garden Warbler, several Sedge Warbler and 5 Reed Warbler. The windier conditions kept 100+ Swift and 100+ House Martin over the water. 6 Goldeneye remain also 5 Pochard and 3 Wigeon were counted. The adult and 2 juvenile Tawny Owls were still in the reservoir plantation but are getting harder to find as more leaves appear.
