BELVIDE BIRDING

• Friday, May 4, 2007 - Belvide Overcast E 2-3

7 Arctic Terns graced the reservoir all afternoon also 4 Common Tern. The drake Garganey was still present on the north shore but was very elusive. A drake Tufted/Pochard hybrid was new also 1 Goldeneye and 1 Wigeon still. An interesting grey backed Yellow Wagtail was in the west marsh with a harsher tzzeuee call, Citrine Wagtail was quickly ruled out but could it be of an eastern form? There was at least 3 Yellow Wagtails in the marsh also. A single Dunlin, 4 LRP were noted but no sign of the Wood Sandpiper today. There were at least 1000 Swift today with 2-300 House Martin also a Hobby was seen.
