BELVIDE BIRDING

• Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - Belvide Showery S 1-2

Bird of the day was an immature female Marsh Harrier that flew thru to the east at 4pm. Also the first Spotted Flycatcher of the year was in the reservoir plantation. 2 Cuckoo around the Gazebo hide were very vocal this morning and thankfully appear to be setting up a territory. 38 Dunlin were still feeding on the north shore, an Arctic Tern flew thru early morning also at least 8 Common Tern. A few pairs of Reed Warbler (photo) were nest building, 8 singing Garden Warbler and 17 singing Sedge Warbler were also noted. 25 Lesser-black backed Gulls flew north west this morning and both the Wigeon and Goldeneye were still present.
