BELVIDE BIRDING

• Monday, June 11, 2007 - Belvide Fair ESE 2

A Red Kite was over the west end between 2.55 and 3.10pm before drifting off the north east. The 2 drake Red-crested Pochard were still present, 7 juvenile Tree Sparrow were infront of the Gazebo hide and the moulting flock of Mute Swan now stands at 74 birds. At least 3 Red-eyed Damselfly's (photo) were again in the west marsh. This evening a juvenile Tawny Owl showed well along the Gazebo bay, also another juvenile was calling in the reservoir plantation. A family of Kingfishers are actively feeding around the south east bay at the moment.
