BELVIDE BIRDING

• Friday, August 3, 2007 - Belvide Fair then Cloudy SW 3

The juvenile Black-necked Grebe remains at the west end. A small influx of wildfowl was noted with 31 Shoveler, 12 Teal, the first returning Wigeon and 1020 Coot. A strange hybrid duck (photo) was present showing possible American Wigeon parentage, what the other parent is, I haven't a clue. Greylag Geese have also increased to 148. 400 Lapwing were on the north shore also a single Common Sandpiper.

Another reminder that a ringing session will take place tomorrow between 6-10am,  permit holders are welcome.
