BELVIDE BIRDING

An excellent afternoons birding with the star bird being a juvenile Marsh Harrier that flew thru at 3.35pm. A male and female Common Scoter were new arrivals, the juvenile Black-necked Grebe remains at the west end, 2 juvenile Mediterranean Gulls were again amongst the gull flock also a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull. The Long-eared Owl was again along the south east bay scrub. 78 GC Grebe and 23 Teal were counted, 2 Spotted Flycatcher were along the Gazebo bay also a Hobby was seen this afternoon. Finally at least 5 Essex Skipper were along the last stretch of footpath before the west lane.

A notice to permit holders. The ringing group will have an evening session this Friday between 6-9pm. Also a morning session on Saturday 6-9am. Please note heavy rain or strong winds will result in cancellation.
