BELVIDE BIRDING

• Saturday, August 18, 2007 - Belvide Rain S 3

A juvenile Arctic Tern was a new arrival this afternoon also a noticable arrival of Common Terns with a site record of 84 counted this afternoon. There were 2 Mediterranean Gulls (photo) an adult and juvenile amongst 1000+ Black-headed Gulls. The juvenile Black-necked Grebe was still present also 354 Tufted Duck and 30 Pochard were counted. Again a distinct lack of waders with a single Ringed Plover and 3 Common Sandpiper. There was also a noticable movement of Swift with 130+ counted. An immature Peregrine was also seen.
