BELVIDE BIRDING

• Wednesday, September 26, 2007 - Belvide Sunny N 4-5

The main highlight today was a flock of 21 Pink-footed Geese that flew in from the east at 5.10pm and landed at the west end. The flock included 3 juveniles. This is the 2nd biggest flock to land at Belvide following 36 on the 23rd September 04.They were probably seen to fly off to the north east at dusk. 2 juvenile Arctic Tern remain and were joined by a juvenile Common Tern this afternoon. 1 Ringed Plover, 4 Golden Plover and 1 Green Sandpiper were the only waders present. An adult Mediterranean Gull roosted this evening. The eclipse male Mandarin was still present also 3 Pintail. A Lesser Whitethroat was near the Bryant hide also 4 Chiffchaff and a single Sand Martin were noted. Below photo of the 21 Pink Feet just about squeezed in.
