BELVIDE BIRDING

• Sunday, September 30, 2007 - Belvide Fair E 1-2

A skywatch off the dam between 0725 and 0925 produced 2 Brambling, 77 Chaffinch, 12 Greenfinch, 1 Goldfinch, 16 Linnet, 1 Siskin, 9 Redwing, 4 Song Thrush, 27 Meadow Pipit, 57 Woodpigeon, 35 Swallow, 52 House Martin, 1 Sand Martin, 1 Reed Bunting, 2 Yellowhammer and 6 Skylark. All birds were moving in a south/south west direction.

The first Goldeneye of the autumn arrived also 2 Pintail and 2 Shelduck. A juvenile Arctic Tern was seen early morning only, and the juvenile Common Tern remains. An adult Mediterranean Gull was seen late morning. 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Dunlin, 2 Ringed Plover, 1 Curlew and 7 Golden Plover were the only waders present. At least 7+ Chiffchaff and 7 Grey Wagtail were around the reserve.

There was a Curlew on the North shore and a Grey Wagtail in the South East bay
