BELVIDE BIRDING

• Monday, October 1, 2007 - Belvide Patchy Rain E 2

A Grey Plover (photo) was a new arrival and a new bird for the year. There were also 22 Golden Plover amongst 628 Lapwing on the north shore, 2 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Ringed Plover and 2 Dunlin were also present. A juvenile Goosander was the first of the autumn also 126 Shoveler, 49 Wigeon, 114 GC Grebe, 3 Little Grebe, 153 Cormorant and 18 Grey Heron were counted. Only 1 Chiffchaff could be found this morning. The juvenile Common Tern was still present.
