BELVIDE BIRDING

• Tuesday, October 9, 2007 - Belvide Heavy Rain then Cloudy W 2

The heavy rain this morning did the trick and fetched a few birds down. On arrival there were 10 Little Gulls flying around which included 5 adults, 1 2nd winter and 4 1st winters. All were gone by late afternoon. There was also a juvenile Arctic Tern and 3 Common Tern. A juvenile Knot (photo) was a new bird for the year, 2 Grey Plover flew south which I think included the bird that had been present the last week. 60 Golden Plover were also on the north shore. A single Rock Pipit was feeding with 14 Meadow Pipit on the north shore.
