BELVIDE BIRDING

• Thursday, October 25, 2007 - Belvide Overcast E 1

The main highlight today was a Water Pipit feeding with a small flock of Meadow Pipits on the north shore opposite the Bryant hide. This was a new bird for the year and the first record since November 03. A single Ruff was a new arrival also a single Dunlin and 248 Golden Plover. A Swallow was seen over the car park this morning. A Water Rail was infront of the Scott hide.

On a personel note I had a most unexpected garden tick today in the form of a Short Eared Owl as it flew over being mobbed by Crows just after 8am.
