BELVIDE BIRDING

• Thursday, December 6, 2007 - Belvide Overcast SW 3

A Short-eared Owl was an unexpected bonus while doing the gull roost this evening. It flew infront of the Gazebo hide at 4.05pm before flying out across the reservoir being mobbed by Crows and Gulls. This is a new addition to the Belvide year list. Also present today was a male Brambling at the gazebo feeding station. A noticable influx of Yellow-legged Gulls has been apparent the last few days with 10 in the roost tonight. These included 5 adults, 1, 3rd winter and 4, 2nd winter birds. The Redshank remains at the west end.
