BELVIDE BIRDING

• Friday, February 8, 2008 - Belvide Fair S 2

The 1st winter drake Scaup was still present also 98 Goldeneye were counted at dusk which is a personel best for Belvide, but falls some way short of the record count of 139 in January 1976. A single Shelduck also dropped in at dusk. 4 Yellow-legged Gulls roosted including 2 adults, 1 3rd winter and 1 2nd winter. Several Reed Bunting (photo) were at the Gazebo feeding station.

Looks like I was there that day! My notebook for my visit to Belvide on 18 January 1976 recorded a figure of 139.
