BELVIDE BIRDING

• Tuesday, February 12, 2008 - Belvide Sunny E 1

Today was the outstanding gull roost of the winter so far. A juvenile Iceland Gull came in at 5.15pm and looks like the bird that has been at the Granville tip near Telford recently. The juvenile Glaucous Gull from last night dropped in at 5.30pm. There was also a smart 1st winter Caspian Gull and a near summer adult Mediterranean Gull. There were around 5000+ large gulls in and 6000+ Black Headed Gulls most of the gulls coming in from the west from Telford way. The 1st winter drake Scaup was still present also 3 Oystercatcher and the pair of Stonechats.
