BELVIDE BIRDING

• Wednesday, March 5, 2008 - Belvide Overcast W 3

The main highlight today was a Barn Owl that was hunting the north west shore from 4.30pm. Barn Owl is still a very scarce bird at Belvide and is personally only the 5th record for me.

A 1st winter Caspian Gull and 2nd winter Yellow-legged Gull were in the roost this evening. The 1st winter drake Scaup was still present and 22 Shoveler was a noticable increase. Oystercatcher have increased to 8 and 4 Curlew were on the north shore at dusk.
