BELVIDE BIRDING

 The Barn Owl was hunting the north west shore from 4.50pm there were also 3+ Sand Martin this afternoon.A very poor WeBS count produced the 1st winter drake Scaup, 72 Tufted Duck, 5 Pochard, 31 Mallard, 24 Wigeon, 11 Teal, 48 Gadwall, 1 Shoveler, 90 Goldeneye, 175 Coot and 10 GC Grebe. A single Redshank was a new arrival also at least 4 Oystercatcher, 2 Curlew and 7 Snipe. There appeared to be a westerly movement of BH Gulls this morning with at least 3500 between 0930-1130. The gull roost held 2 2nd winter Yellow-legged Gulls. A late item of news for yesterday was the Barn Owl was hunting the north west shore from 5.05pm.

There were also 2 Grey Wagtails in the SE corner, 2 Red-legged Partridge 100 yards W of the Scott Hide and a Common Gull.
