BELVIDE BIRDING

• Thursday, March 13, 2008 - Belvide Overcast SW 2

An adult Kittiwake was no great surprise after yesterdays strong winds. It was present between 2-2.10pm when it flew off west. The Barn Owl was again hunting the north west shore from 4.30pm. A mixed finch flock flew over the gazebo bay this afternoon containing several Brambling. A single Chiffchaff was by the Gazebo hide. 1 Redshank, 2 Curlew, 6 Oystercatcher and 18 Snipe were mainly on the north shore this afternoon. The gull roost was down to just 17 LBB Gull and 400+ BH Gull. 88 Goldeneye were counted at dusk.
