BELVIDE BIRDING

• Saturday, March 15, 2008 - Belvide Overcast, Rain this afternoon E 1-2

At least 6 Brambling were in the reservoir plantation this morning. 28 Sand Martin dropped in as the rain started. 2 Chiffchaff were at the gazebo hide and west end. The 1st winter drake Scaup was still present, 4 Shelduck dropped in early afternoon also 54 Gadwall and 93 Goldeneye were counted at dusk. 17 Golden Plover flew over, 2 Redshank, 2 Curlew, 7 Oystercatcher and 14 Snipe were on the north shore. The Barn Owl was seen again from 4.40pm. 5 Lesser Redpoll were also noted.
