BELVIDE BIRDING

A fine male Wheatear on the north shore was the first of the year also the first Swallow was amongst 60 Sand Martin. The Barn Owl was off the west lane from 4.40pm. The Green Sandpiper was still present on the north shore, a single Dunlin was new also 6 Oystercatcher and 2 Redshank were present. The 1st winter drake Scaup was again off the dam and a pair of Goosander dropped in late afternoon. A single Brambling was at the woodland feeding station and at least 6 Chiffchaff were seen. 45 Pied Wagtail in the field behind the Bryant hide was a good count. A single Little Grebe at the west end was another new arrival.
