BELVIDE BIRDING

• Saturday, March 22, 2008 - Belvide Fair NNE 5-7

The main highlight today were 9 Whooper Swans that dropped in at the west end at 11.25am, they were still present when I left at 5.15pm. The 2 male Wheatear were still in the rough field next to Hawkshutt farm. The 1st winter drake Scaup was still present also 60 Wigeon and 21 Shoveler were counted. 12 Brambling were in the reservoir plantation this afternoon and the Barn Owl was hunting the north west shore from 4.25pm. Finally there were at least 30 Sand Martin.

Hey Steve,

9 Whooper Swans were reported at Essington Quarry yesterday but unfortunatly I didn't get to see them.

Probably the same group me thinks?
